The national volleyball sides' coaches expected stiff competition at the World Cup qualifiers, which ended in Maputo, Mozambique, at the weekend.

The two coaches, for both men and women, say competition was below par and has not helped identify their weaknesses. Women's team assistant coach, Isaac Samuel said the level of competition was low.

Samuel said despite the flimsy challenges from opponents, his side showed improved performance in attack and defence.
