The Botswana Basketball Association (BBA) will be on a mission to put their house in order as they host their elective Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Hotel Labama in Gaborone tomorrow.

The association never had a steady executive committee and has been rocked by a continuous turnover of committee members and replacements in the past four years. Former president, Modise Tlhage stepped down barely two years into office and was replaced by then spokesperson, Thuli Jankey. In addition, there has been four Public Relations Officers (PRO) in the past four years, a thing that made it difficult to disseminate information to the public about the sport.

Speaking to Mmegi Sport yesterday, BBA secretary general, Lesego Muzila said the association expects to rope in committed members who will be able to serve with dignity throughout. Muzila said they faced a number of challenges in the past and while most of them had been successfully tackled, the major challenge remaining was lack of sponsorship for the league. He said securing a league sponsor is crucial for the development of the sport and they have tried their best to lure backers without any success.
