Athletes impress ahead of national championship

As expected, the main attraction was the sprints as athletes bolted to the finish line to try improve their records. National 100 metre record holder Yatea Kambepera, who missed last year's Olympics qualification by a whisker redeemed himself over the weekend with a time of 10:57.
Another interesting event was women's 400m where Gaefele Moroko of Sekgoma Junior won in 54:53 followed by Goitseone Seleka with 55:22 and Cassandra Kgosietsile. Moroko won bronze at Under-17 Africa Youth Championships in Nigeria last month. The other eye catching event was the men's 5,000 metres which Rapula Diphoko in 14: 29:64 ahead of Godiraone Nthompe (14:42:53) and Tholego Tshele (14: 57:19).
