Amos roars into 800m finals

Nijel Amos will find himself in the history books after he roared into the finals of the men's 800 metres with a consistent dash at the Olympic Stadium in London last night.

The finals are on tomorrow at 9:00 pm. Amos has remained the only glue that keeps an expectant nation's hopes intact after earlier disappointments from Botswana's other three representatives, Amantle Montsho, Isaac Makwala and Oteng Oteng.

Amos, at 18, is the youngest Motswana to proceed to the finals of the Olympic Games and now stands on the brink of grabbing the country's first ever medal at the global showpiece.
