Week 6: Ramona and Tumi the Barber are Evicted from Biggie’s House This Sunday, 22 February, Ramona and Tumi the Barber became the latest housemates to be evicted from the Big Brother Mzansi Bazozwa house.

The two became the eleventh and twelfth housemates to leave the show, following yet another action-packed display of competitiveness, tightening alliances and working together, all under the leadership of King Wanda, who was the week’s Head of House (HoH). Sunday Live Eviction Show Kicking of Sunday’s eviction show, Big Sister called Smash Afrika sending him on a secret mission to evict a housemate from the Big Brother House without wasting any time. Smash crossed over to the house immediately, however he started with Ashay, letting him know that he has been noted through the boombox. Asking Liema if she trusts her friendship with Ashay after he was heard saying she is ‘lazy’. Liema responded saying yes, she does still trust Ashay adding: “I already know I’m lazy...c’mon, I’m the Queen of England.” Within the first ten minutes of the show, Ramona became the first housemate to be evicted from the Bazozwa house who said that she was ‘really happy’ to be on the outside. Why? “I’m ready for the next part of my journey Smash. I learnt so much, not just about myself, but the types of people that I’m going to be dealing with when the real work starts!” Click here for Ramona’s journey.

Smash moved right on highlighting Thandeka’s actions which have been shunned upon not only by the housemates, but by the Mzansi social streets as well. Smash questioned Thandeka about how she washes her face in the kitchen sink over the dishes, how she dried her wig in the oven and steams her face from a cooking pot. “Is that hygienic?” he asked. Catch up on this live episode here link. Next was Tumi the Barber who said he was shocked that he was evicted. The first thing Smash asked him was if he was ‘excited to see his ‘babe’ Buhle B to which he said “Of course!” Click here for Tumi The Barber’s journey You can tune in this Thursday at 19:00 on Beyond Umsindo when Smash sits with Ramona and Tumi the Barber as they share more about their experiences in the house. The Week That Was and Another Wager Win With this week’s theme Egontshini being all about ‘the good ol’times’, week six in the Big Brother Mzansi Bazozwa house was a mixture of nostalgic energy and that of determined gameplay. And it paid off! The Bazozwa housemates won their wager task with a stellar 1980s-themed play set in Soweto.

From shebeen scenes to drama-filled family twists, their performance displayed a wide range of creativity. Thandeka embodied the chaotic drunken mom, Liema shone as Culo the singer, and Bravo B brought intensity as the feared thug. Biggie praised the creativity and officially awarded them the wager win, securing their weekly budget and bragging rights. Ilano, however, was tasked with completing a Zakhaa Pay-sponsored Red Telephone challenge where she stood to win money in her wallet. The mission? Convince housemates to participate in a fake health story before the tea bell rang. The execution turned out to be absolute confusion! Onions were handed out, R3 000 was randomly mentioned and the housemates quickly clocked that something wasn’t adding up. The task flopped and the reward slipped through her fingers. Redemption Housemates: Is it experience or predictability? The spotlight turned to the redemption housemates, Liema, Bravo B and Mmeli after Ramona and Thandeka questioned whether Liema is repeating her old strategy. The question was, are they moving with veteran wisdom, or are they becoming too predictable? Experience gives them emotional control and strategic awareness. But in a house where evolution is everything, replaying an old formula can make you easier to read. In Bazozwa familiarity can either be power... or a weakness waiting to be exploited. Meanwhile, several housemates, including Ashay, King Wanda and The Don were caught up in conversations about life after the finale, brand deals and outside attention.

The energy feels increasingly future-focused, with gameplay sometimes sounding more like post-show planning. Hmmmmm. Don’t forget to tune in this Monday, 23 February for the new week’s Head of House challenge at 18:00 to see who the captain of the Big Brother Mzansi Bazozwa house will be in Week 7 as well as the nominations at 20:00. Bravo BDF for the first step addressing GBV

The statement, whilst some may say, comes a little bit too late, is timely as gender-based violence (GBV) continues to haunt the country. A week hardly passes without reports of a wife, a girlfriend or boyfriend being killed by their intimate partners. Just recently, a high-ranking officer stationed at Glen Valley Barracks reportedly murdered his wife and has so far managed to evade arrest. It is also alleged that another soldier murdered his...
