There is no inner BNF democracy

Phrases such as "I will crack the whip" or "step down in 2010" are common in the BNF leadership. The first phrase is used for the sole purpose of suppressing different views.

This has left many people wondering if the main reason of the Central Committee is to be afraid of being engaged in a debate. The CC has resorted to usage of term  discipline in order to justify its myopic action. Though some of us are aware of the fact that CC is composed of agents of the capitalist BDP, we didn't expect them to behave like that. The above point is proved by the fact that Rre Otsweletse Moupo got advice from the former President H.E. Festus Mogae not to resign, but refused advice from BNF structures such as the Leadership forum, BNFYL and International Socialist Botswana (group member). The latter is reported to have been suspended.

The CC should understand that freedom of expression offers four broad purposes. First, it helps an individual to attain self-fulfillment. This implies that an individual requires information and opportunity to express his/her own ideas if he/she is to grow. If people are free to express their views, they will be able to expose their ignorance or their little political understanding. This will help them to learn and hence they will grow. As they grow in terms of understanding as members of the movement, their movement will also grow. This is simply because the existence of the movement depends on its membership. If they are enlightened, the movement is automatically enlightened.
