Of Radio Active Waste Facility At Pilikwe

The requirement of the Environmental Impact Assessment Act 2005, to have all public meeting notices publicised in newspapers is an effective way of reaching a wide audience for consultation purposes on development projects.(Note Consultation).

 It is through this medium that I came across a newspaper notice recently of an EIA of a proposed Radio Active Waste Facility at my home village of Pilikwe.

My modest attempt to find out more information about the project has left me with nothing but contempt for the project. My first and main concern is that the plot for the above facility has actually been allocated by the Land Board approximately 5km South West of the village!
