Do not forget Basarwa

As the country celebrates 'President's Day', Botswana should not forget the Gana and Gwi Bushmen who continue to languish in resettlement camps they call 'places of death'.

For them, little has changed since President Khama assumed the presidency over a year ago. Under Ian Khama, the Bushmen living inside the Central Kalahari Game Reserve have been told they must make a 400km round trip to get water.

They are banned from using their own water borehole in the reserve and are forbidden from hunting for food, risking arrest if they try.
