Christians must participate in politics

For a long time Christians, especially in Africa, have always shunned politics. There is this myth, which makes Christians view politics as dirty and unholy. They view politics as corrupt and against the teachings of the Bible.

Though most have always participated at the level of voting, there are still those who believe even voting is not a sanctified act therefore they cannot do it. Most are avoiding contesting for political office, but there is no scriptures in the Bible, which demonise politics.

What Christians do not realise though by distancing themselves from politics is that politics remains an integral part of every human being's life, be it Christian or non-Christian. Politics affects our daily lives as individuals and communities we live in alike, whether one is a Christian or not. Governments are political entities and they make decisions, which also affect Christians either directly or indirectly.
