Botswana's poor culture of road safety

The Christmas Season is around the corner and just like other holidays, the nation is going to see horrifying accidents that will undoubtedly leave many dead.

Road accidents are now the number two killer and very soon, they are going to overtake HIV/AIDS.

Observation tells me that Botswana does not have a good culture of road safety. A pedestrian like I have plenty of stories to narrate as far as our public transport is concerned. A few weeks back, BTV carried a story on one kombi driver who tried to run the red light by Orapa House and almost killed everyone. The silly driver had the audacity to collapse and had to be attended to by the same passengers he almost killed!
