Big Brother Africa Three: A wake-up call

Africa is a real paradox or should I say Botswana. The Botswana Guardian in its commentary (November 21) raised an important but paradoxical observation regarding the Big Brother Africa Three reality show.

The paper says "The sad thing about the BB shows is that participants in there are almost always regarded as if they represent the countries they come from...It is of course true that when a compatriot excels in the promotion of virtue, even as we may not have delegated them, we tend to revel in their success.

We should equally squirm when a compatriot falters and engages in acts that are embarrassing."
