Batswana are still not economically empowered

Forty-one years into our democracy majority of Batswana are still not economically empowered. Yes we have the greatest political power, envied by the world in terms of freedom of expression and religious freedom, but the majority of citizens still do not have a social and economic voice.

Yes, we enjoy freedom of expression and we are the envied nation both regionally and internationally, but the majority of Batswana had not tasted economic democracy. The issue here is not whether Botswana have citizen economic empowerment. Citizen empowerment has been with us for the past 41 years.

The big question: what steps do we take to attain Vision 2016 objectives?.
