The latest to taste the government's brutality is the innocent Limkokwing students who rightfully embarked on a class-boycott and consequent mass-action following a litany of grievances besieging their bookstore. The said students reportedly decried among others inadequate textbooks, bookstore monopoly and its exorbitant prices.At the top of their list is the apparent lack of proper and necessary consultation in the signing of a shady deal that cut like a sharp sword on their loaned book-allowance; a decision that was taken under highly clandestine and secretive conditions. In a rather bizarre fashion, it is purported that this enigmatic decision to 'steal' student's book-allowance was aided by some past SRC sell-outs who betrayed the student's struggle allegedly under bribe.This decision was fraudulent in all its nature and character.
As if they have been attacked by demonic spirits, the belligerent security agents and government police apparatus harassed and intimidated the students in a desperate move to quell the demonstrations. Students were temporarily defeated and they called for cease-fire while preparing to proceed to court. As if that was not enough, hardly two weeks after the re-opening of the university, the SRC leadership was suspended by Limkokwing's 'infantile' management with the blessing of the 'capitalist oriented' DTEF.
