Barati told me that she is a resident of Magapatona Ward, which neighbours Selolwane (Tjilagwane) Ward, which I represent as Kgosi.
Some of the statements she wrote are not only incorrect but could fuel tribal political conflict. For example, the subject of "Baperi working as vassals for Bangwato in the fields, cattlepost and homes" never came up in our interview. I don't know where she got that from. Neither did the Baperi of Tjilagwane ever settle at the point where the Tutume and Mazuzumba Rivers form a confluence, as she says.
