Kgalagadi land scandal

I refer to the three articles on this issue on pages 2 and 3 of your Friday 22 February edition.

There are some omissions and errors of fact in these otherwise excellent articles.  In 2011, while I was still Chairman of the Kgalagadi Land Board, I was informed by the then Minister of Lands and Housing, Nonofho Molefhe MP, that the report of the 2007 Task Team was "lost".

He told me that only two hard copies had ever been made and neither could be found in his ministry's files.  He also told me that the members of the task team were unable to find an electronic copy of their report.I was one of a number of farmers (40 all told) who challenged the allocations of farm IL3 to du Preez (not IK3 to van Zyl as you report), IL4 to van Romberg and IL6 to van Zyl. They did so because these farms were on land which they were using and had been de-zoned under the TGLP for that reason.
