BCP appalled by political interference at BIUST

The sacking of the Chairperson of the Council and the resignation of the Vice Chancellor is attributed to political interference. Media reports indicate that BIUST is a victim of Botswana Democratic Party’s factions or internal wrangling.
The future of an estimated 1000 prospective students is uncertain. These are the cream of our society who could improve the country’s global competitiveness. It should be noted that the first Vice Chancellor of BIUST also left the institution under suspicious circumstances, and this is a second false start that could have far reaching consequences. This current situation will certainly make it difficult to attract international experts that would make BIUST a reputable institution.
