Police investigations into last year's drowning of three Water Utilities Corporation (WUC) employees at Gaborone Dam have been concluded.

No foul play has been linked to the deaths.  Police submitted a docket on the investigations to the Directorate of Public Prosecutions which detailed that the investigators found that the driver of the boat was negligent. The three employees drowned on August 6th sparking an intense two week search that sent the whole country and family members into distress, especially as there were no leads into what could have occurred prior to the drowning.

The bodies of Kebolokile Mosiiwa of Kachikau and Goitsemang Moganetsi were retrieved from Gaborone Dam on August 17th, 11 days after the accident, whilst the third one Johannes Ramotite of Ramotswa was found on the 18th. The men went missing while conducting routine tests on the water. It has since been established that the deceased were not wearing life jackets at the time of the accident.
