Woman jailed for unpaid debt

A woman has been thrown in civil jail for failure to pay a debt owed to a security company. Doreen Lubinda found herself on the wrong side of the law after the Gaborone Village Magistrate's court issued a warrant of arrest for her.

"These are to command you the said Messenger of the Court to take Doreen Lubinda and deliver her to the Officer-in-Charge of the Prison together to be safely kept until Lubinda pays," the warrant for her arrest says.
