Woman attacked, raped while walking home alone

A 28-year-old woman of Kurarura ward in Gantsi was attacked and raped by an unknown man while walking home alone from a local nightclub on Sunday morning.

Narrating the incident, Gantsi Police Station commander, Superintendent Modiro Lekone said the matter was reported at around 5am by the victim. "The victim said while walking home she meet an unknown man on the way who subsequently pounced on her in an attack, forcefully dragged her to the nearby bush, raped her and fled the crime scene suspect," Lekone said.. "The victim could not identify the suspect because it was still dark, however, investigations into the matter are ongoing to locate and arrest the suspect."
