Why Ntirang may be let off the hook

FRANCISTOWN: The political hullabaloo that visited Tonota Sub-District Council chambers recently is likely to fizzle out, albeit temporarily if the latest developments are any yardstick.

Last week, six civic leaders in Tonota voted in favour of a motion of no confidence in the current chairman, Botho Ntirang. Four councillors opposed the motion and one councillor abstained.

Sponsored by opposition Botswana National Front (BNF) councillor Lemme Kgopa, the motion hinged on Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) councillor Ntirang's alleged dictatorial tendencies and negligence of his mandate, among other accusations.
