Jako Hubona is a senior investigator at the Directorate on Corruption and Economic Crime (DCEC). He started his career with the Botswana Police Service. He has been serving the directorate for 13 years.

He specialises in anti-money laundering, financial crimes, tradecraft and illicit financial flows. He also specialises in collecting and analysing intelligence.

Apart from the high profile P100 billion investigation, he was also the lead investigator of the asset manager, Capital Management Botswana (CMB) and Botswana Public Officers’ Pension Fund (BPOPF) fraud investigations. He also investigated former Permanent Secretary to the President (PSP), Carter Morupisi’s corruption scandal that led to the conviction of the former top civil servant.
