JOHANNESBURG: Who benefits from the so-called 'banned substances' confiscated from passengers travelling to various destinations at local and international airports?

A passenger who was in transit to Gaborone from London via Dubai in the United Arab Emirates was incensed at having to "forfeit" the precious gifts she had bought from a duty free shop at London's Heathrow International Airport.


"Somebody had better look into this matter because it is degenerating into daylight robbery. If the responsible people know that these things are not allowed in the aircraft, why should they allow duty-free shops to sell them?
