President Festus Mogae has been told violent crime is a major problem in Palapye.

Mogae's kgotla meeting was specifically called to inform villagers about the resignation of their MP, Boyce Sebetela but many of the residents who stood up to speak voiced their concerns on worsening security in the village.

It was Kgosi Raditanka Ntebele who threw the gauntlet when he gave a welcome address.
