Former Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) Youth League president, Gomolemo Motswaledi, has said he is on course to mount another challenge against secretary general, Jacob Nkate despite efforts to avoid party elections this year.

The Gaborone Central parliamentary hopeful stated yesterday that he is not interested in moves by the party to restrict contests for positions to avoid divisions ahead of general elections this year.

Last week, there were suggestions in the BDP Central Committee that those standing in general elections should not contest party positions and vice-versa. Motswaledi is not interested in the suggestion and has set his eyes firmly on serving as an MP and a party official. He said that although he appreciated the import of the suggestion, he is not persuaded.
