UB Political Analysts Dismissed

University of Botswana (UB) political analysts came under fire from the Botswana National Front (BNF) activist Lemogang Ntime at a rally at Gaborone bus rank last week. Ntime said the analysts should be serious in their analysis and research.

"Their analysis should have substance and differentiate BNF from other political parties," charged Ntime. He added that the BNF is not a political party in the mould of Botswana Congress Party (BCP), Botswana Alliance Movement (BAM), Botswana Peoples Party (BPP) and New Democratic Front (NDF). Former BNF secretary for political education, Dr Elmon Tafa, who was present at the rally bore the brunt of Ntime's accusations. Ntime said UB analysts should avoid shallow research and analysis when talking about BNF and other political parties.

"BNF is not a political party but an organisation that is different from other political parties. Ours is a political movement which is created under one common goal of looking after the people regardless of their tribal origin, political affiliation and religion," said Ntime. He said BNF's ideological direction and dispensation is the same as that of the African National Congress (ANC) of South Africa, South West African People's Organisation (SWAPO) of Namibia, MPLA of Angola and FRELIMO of Mozambique.
