UB holds defence and security course

The Centre for Strategic Studies of the University of Botswana (UB) is scheduled to run a three-day executive course in Parliamentary Oversight on Defence and Security next week. The course will be run by the Department of Political and Administrative Studies. It will be officially opened by Phandu Skelemani, Minister of Justice, Defence and Security on Wednesday at the Walmont Ambassador (The Grand Palm Hotel) in Gaborone.

 

The official closing ceremony and award of certificates will be presided over by Prof. Frank Youngman, UB Deputy Vice Chancellor - Academic Affairs, on Friday.
The objective of the course is to enhance the capacity of the Botswana Parliament to oversee defence and security functions, through developing the skills and knowledge of the principal actors involved.
