Parliament was ablaze last week as the MP for Francistown West, Tshelang Masisi, attacked government. "I want to show my government that it is high time we change the tune. If we used to dance it lower down, we should dance it upwards," declared Masisi senior.

The fuming Masisi informed the House that he was speaking on behalf of his electorate who had sent him. He said the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) government is failing to empower Batswana through education by imparting skills. "At times I even remember Patrick Van Rensburg who implemented education for development".According to Masisi, no child who went through Van Rensburg's education is starving. "Ga  gona ngwana yo o tseneng ka diatla tseo yo o bolawang ke tlala", he said.

While he was making these declarations, MPs, mostly from the ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP), cheered him on, shouting "bulldozer" but reminding him that "now he was touching the untouchable", "O bua thata" but Tshelang was unstoppable. "We are failing to plan for the future of our children by giving them skills as most of them are roaming the streets and as a result we will be calling them tomorrow and suggesting that we pay them.We are creating serious problems for ourselves", he said. He added that the BDP government has failed to utilise money when it was available. "E rile re na le one ra seka ra akanya sentle, (We failed to think). He argued that Batswana students are taken to tertiary insettutions, but lack skills. "For instance a Motswana child cannot make an axe, instead Zimbabweans are making them", he said.
