TOSC 36 participants graduate

After three weeks of intense training and hard work, 36 participants from Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Djibouti, Egypt, Kenya, Uganda, Namibia and Zambia finally graduated last Friday at the Botswana Public Officers College.

They all received certificates after successfully completing the course. According to Major M.T.A. Calnan, from the Canadian Directorate of Military Training and Cooperation, the tactical operations staff course (TOSC) was created in 2005 in response to an African Union (AU) request for assistance with the peacekeeping mission in Darfur, Sudan.

A course was designed to provide such assistance with technical and tactical proficiency in specific areas. The areas include tactical and administrative problem solving, employment of battle procedures and the interaction with staff and peers of differing backgrounds and experience.
