Three-year old dies in lovers' tiff

FRANCISTOWN: A young woman who attempted suicide in Mahalapye last week following a lovers' tiff which resulted with the death of her child is likely to face a murder charge.

Superintendent Samuel Mosipi of Mahalapye police station said Monday that they had detained a 22-year-old, fourth year, University of Botswana (UB) student who is likely to be charged with murder.

Information on the matter was sketchy at the time of going to press, but it is alleged that after the young woman had quarreled with her boyfriend, she must have taken her three year old daughter to the railway track where they laid down in wait for an on-coming locomotive.
