Ten years for killer of teacher

The High Court in Lobatse this week sentenced Boago Motswako to 10 years in prison for the murder of Boingotlo Gaoetswe, a teacher at Bakgatle Junior Secondary School in Mochudi, on March 31 last year.

Motswako was also sentenced to nine months' imprisonment for the assault of Inaganeng Kotsedi on the same day. The sentences will run concurrently.

The Court heard that Motswako found Kotsedi at her employers' yard at around 8:15 in the morning.  Kotsedi, a former schoolmate of the accused, told the court that the accused attacked her by grabbing her and throwing her to the ground. As they grappled, the accused produced a knife; she screamed, and the accused ran away.
