Teachers adopt eight hr day unilaterally

Teachers this week decided to take the law into their hands by working eight hours a day in accordance with the Public Service Act.

Even school heads are in this unilateral decision that was implemented beginning Monday with the backing of two teachers' unions. 

According to the Secretary General of the Botswana Secondary Teachers Union (BOSETU), Tobokani Rari, teachers are done with waiting for a response from the Directorate of Public Service Management regarding compensation for working after 4.30pm.
