Tati Siding accident claims two lives

FRANCISTOWN: A horrific accident near Tati Siding, along the A1 road has claimed the lives of two people when the car they were travelling in collided with a seven-ton truck. According to Kutlwano Police Station Traffic Officer, Superintendent Pelontle Kesupile, the accident occurred at around 6:45am.

"The truck appeared to have been heading south while the car seemed to have been coming to Francistown," said Kesupile in an interview. He said both the driver and the passenger in the car, which had been squashed under the truck, had been admitted to Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital while the driver of the truck and his four passengers sustained minor injuries. When asked what might have caused the accident, Kesupile said the matter was still fresh, hence they had not yet established the cause nor whether any of the drivers might have tried overtaking resulting in the collision. He encouraged road users to drive safely along the Francistown-Tonota road as it is still under construction.
