Swartz quizzed about CTO debts

The Minister of Works and Transport, Johnny Swartz told Parliament yesterday that the Central Transport Organisation (CTO) owes Shell Oil Botswana P2,222,404.14 reflected in invoices that were wrongly priced.


Swartz said Shell had charged CTO for fuel at retail prices instead of at government tender prices. The minister said Shell collected the invoices on February 13 2009 to correct them.

Mogoditshane MP, Patrick Masimolole asked if was true that CTO owes Shell Oil a substantial amount for fuel, and the government transport organisation was refusing to pay.
