Suspected serial rapist faces 11 counts of rape

A Mogoditshane man appeared before Broadhurst magistrate Janet Janson facing 11 counts of rape and one count of threat to kill. The minimum charge of rape is 10 years imprisonment.

Chipo David, 33 was arrested early October for a string of rape incidents that allegedly started four years ago.According to charge sheet, his first rape was in April 2011 and the last one in July 2015. The court heard how, on April 21 2011 at Nkoyaphiri in Mogoditshane, David allegedly raped his first victim. Still on the same day, David  and a suspect who was not incourt, raped another woman.

The prosecution says David raped his third victim on March 8, 2012 at Nkoyaphiri. Two days later, he raped yet another woman.
