Lobatse High Court judge, Unity Dow will hear an urgent application today in which two expelled University of Botswana student representative council (SRC) officials are seeking reinstatement following their expulsion last week.

Last week UB's public relations officer, Tefo Mangope, confirmed that the University had expelled SRC vice president, Molatedi Kgotla, and bar and canteen minister, Gomolemo Kgotla, amid reports that the two were instrumental in fuelling UB class boycotts that led to the closure of the institution last Thursday.

The class boycotts were marred by violence against students who did not want to participate as well as vandalism that resulted in damage to vehicles and other university property.
