Following the recent announcement by the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) that the voter registration for the 2014 general elections has been scheduled for October this year, civil society organisations, political parties and workers are positioning themselves to play a meaningful role.

"Our mandate has been compromised by lack of funds as our sponsors are not able to fund some of our projects. However, I am happy to say that we have held workshops in Kgalagadi North and Ngwaketse West areas to sensitise women on governance. "Democracy is about equal representation," she says. Emang Basadi had representatives in the committee that administered the redrawing of ward boundaries following the delimitation exercise.
