St Johns to open multi-million Pula building

FRANCISTOWN: St John's Apostolic Faith Mission of Botswana will officially open its multi-million Pula building at the church headquarters on Saturday.

The Minister of Labour and Home Affairs, Edwin Batshu, has been invited as the guest speaker. The theme of the event is: "Transforming the church mandate towards social development".According to a press release from church, in 1986 St Johns broke away from its mother body in South Africa and established its headquarters in Francistown.The church then developed a 10-year development plan geared towards designing and building a multi-million Pula modern infrastructure.

They said it was in line with its broad mandate of serving the nation beyond theological services to include formal education and socio-economic development.The new building comprises six classrooms for a private senior secondary school, headmaster's office, a computer room for the training of computer skill based courses, bursar's office, multi-purpose hall that can accommodate over 20,000 people for church and community activities and a baptismal pool which is still under construction.
