Special Constables caught in a bind

A large number of special constables remain hopeless due to the long awaited payment of their gratuity without any solid response regarding when they might receive it or explanation for the delay.

In an interview with Mmegi, a special constable (speaking on condition of anonymity) in Broadhurst/Phakalane says he completed his five-year term in December last year.

"I have called their office countless times but have always been given the same response, that I should wait.
