Dibete police are investigating a case in which a 39-year-old woman of Tshipana ward in Mookane was roused from sleep in an attack and then raped by an intruder on Saturday early morning.

Investigating the case, Dibete Police Station commander, Superintendent Meshack Ranku said the incident occurred at around 3am when the victim had just arrived home from the bar. Ranku stated that the victim arrived home at around 2am and went to the bed with the window open waiting for her other family members who had stayed behind to return.

“She had left the window open so that they could wake her up through the same window so that she can open the doors to the house for them but the intruder used the same window to gain entrance. Whilst asleep she was woken up by the intruder who raped her and fled the crime scene through the same window,” he said.
