The police have not been able to recover six Honda Fits cars which were reported stolen since November in Selebi-Phikwe policing area.

In an interview with No.20 District Officer Commanding Meshack Pulenyane, he said they have not recovered the stolen cars nor made any arrests in connection with them. Therefore, he pleaded with the members of the public who witnessed or have any information related to the stolen cars to get in touch with the police. He said they are still searching for the suspects who are still on the run. It was reported that most of the cars were stolen in the wee hours or at night. The first incidents of some of the stolen cars with a street value of P25,000 each were reported on November 28 and December 2 respectively.

The cars were reported stolen in a period of less than five days in different locations under the Selebi-Phikwe jurisdiction. Both of the stolen Honda Fits cars did not have alarms at the time. Moreover, other cars were reported stolen on December 18 in a space of four hours. Pulenyane told this publication last year that two of the stolen cars were reported stolen on parking lots at Gevanos entertainment area and Browns Pub respectively during a night out whilst other were stolen parked at the complainants homes at night. Investigations on this matter are still ongoing.
