Shocking fuel hikes mute authorities

Petrol went up this week by a staggering 75 thebe silencing authorities who feared that a public announcement would provoke all-round price hikes on the trading markets.

Government sources reveal that the traditional official announcement was traded in for silence 'because every time when the fuel prices went up, prices of commodities are also increased'.

Sources said the government intends to announce the net increases at the end of the year.
