Sekgororoane ditches GTV for Multichoice? :: Mmegi Online

Even before moving to second gear, Botswana's new pay TV has suffered a setback with the news that its founding general manager Billy Sekgororoane has quit. Sekgororoane told Mmegi yesterday that he is no longer with the recently launched GTV and he is negotiating with a potential employer.

There are reports that he has been snapped by GTV's rivals Multichoice Botswana. He declined to confirm the reports. Sekgororoane is a former general manager of Multichoice Botswana.

"I can only say that I am negotiating with some people. Details of who those people are will be announced in due course. I cannot talk on behalf of GTV. I expect them to issue a press release," he said. He declined to reveal why he has chosen to leave GTV so early. The new pay TV has been hailed as a saviour after it came with a menu containing more English Premier League soccer at a time when Multichoice had a limited supply.
