Sebele to call youth meeting

MOLEPOLOLE: Specially elected councillor, Kabo Sebele, plans to call young people to a meeting at the beginning of April to discuss shortage of land, youth unemployment and lack of help from government officials.

Sebele has told Mmegi that he intends to invite stakeholders from both the public and private sectors to highlight the plight of young Batswana before them. Owners of businesses in Kweneng will be particularly targeted in order that they may explore ways of helping the youth. However, high-ranking officials are not invited because the convenor does not want the meeting to be associated with politics.

"This meeting has nothing to with any of my campaign strategies for the upcoming elections," Sebele said. "That is why I choose to have it at the Kgotla." Sebele added that young people had been coming to his house with a myriad of complaints and to ask for help, which led him to conclude that a meeting was necessary.
