Sebele Takes Over

Former Bakwena regent, Kgosikwena Sebele has been appointed the new president of the Customary Court of Appeal. Sebele has been serving as deputy president of the Customary Court of Appeal. He succeeds the late Bakgatla paramount chief, Kgosi Linchwe II as Customary Court of Appeal president.

He was among the favourites to take over from Linchwe alongside Bangwaketse paramount chief Seepapitso IV and Francistown Customary Court president Christopher Masunga.

Sebele confirmed his appointment to the Monitor over the weekend. "Yes I have been appointed as the new president of the Customary Court of Appeal. I received the letter of appointment on Friday though the letter is dated September 5," he said.
