Scarcity of land has F'town authorities at sixes and sevens

FRANCISTOWN: The city of Francistown aptly fits its description as the northern capital of Botswana, with many government departments and big private companies that, no doubt offer employment and educational opportunities but there is a dire shortage of land.

Even up to today people who have applied for land in the city of Francistown as far back as 1988 are still waiting hoping that someday they will be listed.

Perhaps others have even died before they could have a place they could call their own, owing to the problem of land shortage. Towns are regarded as areas where unemployed migrate for economic betterment and Francistown is overwhelmed with population of people migrating from the neighbouring villages for better lifestyle.
