Repeat Offender Rebukes Magistrate

After the elderly Obeng handed down six years for the first count of burglary and four years for the second count of stealing from a dwelling house in Tonota on Dallas Benoni, the youthful Benoni pleaded with Obeng to order the sentences to run concurrently with his previous six years' imprisonment for robbery.
When the magistrate remained unmoved, 22-year old Benoni shouted in Setswana: "Tsamaya monna, o tla' tsamaya ko Ghana o ntse jalo," which roughly translates into "Bugger off here, you'll go back to Ghana just the way you are."
Benoni's angry outburst dismayed a few people seating in the gallery. Magistrate Obeng is a Motswana of Ghanaian origin.
