Record 42 SEDC students dropout in one term

Little to no parental involvement from home and low motivation from students has contributed negatively on the school dropout rate, which has reached a record high in one district.

The South East District council (SEDC) has recorded 42 cases of school dropouts during the second term alone, something that has made both councillors and dikgosi concerned. 

According to the South East District Development Committee and District Disaster Management Committee report the dropout is mainly due to social issues.
