A night out with a man at a local club has left a 20-year-old woman alleging rape, with the suspect now under police investigation in Ramotswa.

According to No.13 District Officer Commanding, Senior Superintendent Obusitswe Lokae, the incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning, following a night out around the village’s entertainment spots.

“The victim and the suspect, along with other acquaintances, had been out partying together. They allegedly left the club around 4am and dropped each other off at their respective homes. However, whilst the woman was walking towards her residence, she noticed the suspect suddenly reappearing behind her. He approached her unexpectedly, grabbed her, dragged her into nearby bushes, and raped her before fleeing the scene,” Lokae said.
