PY congress to produce youthful female VP

A youthful female vice president is expected to be elected into office on Wednesday at the Botswana Public Employees Union (BOPEU) congress as members adopt some of the key recommendations of their last special congress.

At the special congress, BOPEU resolved that an affirmative action be adopted to recognise the  youth and females, who make up the majority of the burgeoning membership of BOPEU that now stand at 31,000.

The new position will be known as Vice president Gender & Youth, and will be open to  females up to 35 years of age.
