Minister of Education and Skills Development, Jacob Nkate, has challenged journalists to strive for more professionalism.

Nkate was the guest speaker at the Mass Media Complex at an event hosted by Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA-Botswana) to commemorate World Press Freedom Day under the theme: "Press Freedom, Access to Information and empowering the people". The event was held on Saturday morning.

Nkate expressed concern that the lack of professionalism often displayed by some media practitioners was a cause of worry for some people in government who do not trust the local press.
